What to Do?

Less than 6 days till we leave on a cruise - 5 nights to the Bahama's and back. We just decided yesterday to join M and family. It will be the first cruise for all of us. I am already worrying about what to take. No, not clothes - that's the simple part - shorts, sun dresses, sandals, and swimsuit. I'm worrying about what to take to do while on the cruise. Something fun, easy and doesn't take up much room. OK, here are my choices - maybe all three.

  1. Work on assembling the hexagons that are cut out

  2. Baste my corner scrappy cuts for my 'flower fields' mini-quilt

  3. Add the decorative hand stitches and texture to my Mr. St. Helen's interpretation

Oh yeah, get this! M and the Dude both got e-readers for Mother's Day and Graduation. Grandma has to take the old fashioned book with her on the cruise. Something is not right with this picture. I may have to find a deck chair on a different part of the ship. I plan to plant myself and do absolutely nothing unless I want to do it. I can hardly wait!! Big T is worried that they only have 8 meals a day.

The cooler weather feels good but it is still too humid to open the house. The Dude says the pool is freezing today; hard to imagine when it was so warm a day or so ago. I'll take this weather any day.

Hugs - Marie

  1. Why not take a book! Easy to pack, doesn't take up any room and you can read it while tanning on a lounge chair :)
Hope you have a wonderful holiday!

  2. SOOOO jealous! Can I come too? I think I might fit in your suitcase...har har. I say take all three and decide which to work on as your heart sees fit.

  3. Have a great time! I would take whatever project takes up the least room in my luggage. Add the book too!

  4. Just take something small and definately the book.
    Enjoy your trip.

  5. LOL. Take them ALL! And books. Although there are so many things to do on board the ship you may not have time to do it all.

We have cruised in just about every part of the world and love it. No phones for Frank to answer. So he has to relax. We rarely spend time in the room, but we do get a rear balcony so we can pretend we are rich and own the yacht and sit on the balcony and dream!

We are planning a cruise in the Carribean in the Fall and next year we plan on the Mediterranean Sea and Egypt! Wanna come?

I didn't want an ebook at first, but now I am warming to the idea. Maybe Christmas.

  6. I'm so glad you decided to come! But between the two of us we may go stir crazy with 'nothin' to do. I may have to go find some stitching projects that have been abandoned too long to take along. Oh yeah, and my E-READER!!! :)

  7. I say take it all if there's room!! That way you can work on whatever strikes your fancy at the time. I've never been on a cruise so you have to have a good time for me too!!!

  8. Take all three to work on.
Have a great time. I have not been on a cruise yet. I really want to do an Alaskan cruise.
    Happy 4th to you.
