This is what is on my design wall. I have been working on this off and on while I was under the weather. The top is finished finally (much larger than shown here) the size of a queen sized bed. It needs to be sandwiched and quilted. This is an original design by me (I hope - I have never seen it anywhere else).
Thanks for everyone's warm wishes and comments while I was 'out ill'. I think I am about ready to hit the ground running again now. To all of you who wrote and asked how I was feeling - THANK YOU!
This was the week of mail goodies at my house. First there was . . .
then a day or so later . . .
(I have read these from cover until I have them memorized.)
and then this 'cute little mini mouse' - look no tail (and it's pink, pink, pink) - she's to go with my new laptop with the oversensitive touch pad . . .
but best of all were these beautiful, hand knit sox in this lovely shade of bright green with the delightfully orange cuffs. I have never worn hand knit sox before and I may never pull them off - well maybe once in awhile to be washed (maybe). They are so warm and comfy. Thank you Gerry - you are the best. Please go see Gerry's work and tell her I said to drop by.
And finally, I dug the 'disappearing nine patch' table topper out of the Avoidance Stack and have that basted and ready to quilt. I'm trying to decide whether to hand quilt or machine quilt. Photos of that another day.
I have decided that I do not have UFO's or Phd's - I hide things in my 'Avoidance Stack'. . I have bored you with enough photos already
Hugs - Marie
I love that quilt. You really need to make it into a pattern. I can be your tester!
ReplyDeleteglen: so glad you are better! Love your "stuff".
More photos please! Definitely not boring. I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. Those books look like they'll have the cutest projects in them. I think I like the "Avoidance Pile" term better than PhD because its honest!
ReplyDeleteWell now that you are better you ought to have plenty to keep you busy with all this motivation.
ReplyDeleteLove you new quilt on the design wall.
Hand knitted sox are wonderful, aren't they? A friend made me some last winter and they are SO warm!
ReplyDeleteI love your quilt design. It's one that keeps my interest up - searching for the pattern within a pattern.
ReplyDeleteWill you be machine quilting?
This coming week is going to be warm here in mid-MO.
Hugs,
Gerry
Glad to hear you are on your feet again and was able to work on a quilt despite being sick. It is a neat design. All those lovely goodies surely made you feel better too.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the colors in your quilt which is gorgeous! I've never worn hand knit sox either! Yours sure are pretty!
